When I was 16, I smiled a lot… but I doubted everything.
I didn’t always show it, but inside, it felt like a storm.
Am I pretty enough? Am I doing enough?
Am I too quiet? Too emotional? Too weird?
Will someone ever really love me for who I am?
No one really saw how much I needed someone to tell me the truth —
The kind of truth they don’t teach you in school.
So today, I’m writing to that version of me.
To the girl I used to be.
To maybe you, if you’re still trying to figure things out.
🌸 You don’t have to change to be loved
Stop trying to blend in.
You think it’s easier to fit the mold — but what makes you different is what makes you shine.
People won’t love you for the parts you hide.
They’ll love you for the parts you show — the real, raw, beautiful you.
You don’t need to be louder, thinner, cooler, or smoother.
You just need to be you.
🪞Your body doesn’t need to be fixed
You look at yourself and pick apart every little detail.
You feel like your body is something to be apologized for.
But your body isn’t a problem. It’s a home.
It carries you. Feels for you. Connects you to the world.
One day, you’ll look in the mirror with tenderness.
Not because you became “perfect,”
but because you finally understand that peace is more beautiful than perfection.
💠You’re not lost — you’re learning
At 16, you think you’re supposed to already know who you are.
But you’re becoming. And that’s enough.
You don’t need the perfect plan.
You just need to keep moving — even in small steps.
You’re young, but you’re already whole.
Every question you’re asking is a doorway back to yourself.
🤍 You are enough — even in the quiet
You don’t need to always speak, perform, achieve.
You are enough when you’re resting.
When you’re still. When you’re simply being.
You are worthy — even on the days when you feel invisible.
Even when you don’t understand why.
🌷 You don’t have to be perfect to be powerful
You want to be liked. Safe. Flawless.
But real power doesn’t come from pleasing everyone.
It comes from taking up space, even when it’s uncomfortable.
It comes from saying no. From feeling deeply.
From trying, failing, getting back up — and choosing yourself again.
You are allowed to be soft and strong. Messy and magical.
💗 Your “little something extra” is already inside you
You think you need to earn it.
To look a certain way. To be chosen.
But your light is already there —
In the way you see the world.
In the way you care.
In your quiet, wild, sensitive heart.
Don’t hide it. Nurture it. Trust it.
That’s the part of you that will set you free.
✨ And one day…
You’ll fall in love. You’ll get hurt.
You’ll lose people, find yourself, and then lose yourself again.
You’ll make mistakes and learn to forgive.
And slowly, softly —
You’ll learn to truly love yourself.
Not just when you feel pretty.
But in the messy, raw, silent moments, too.
And that will be your greatest power.
đź’Ś What would you say to your 16-year-old self?
Let’s talk about it. Our words have the power to heal more than we know.
