For years, I made jokes about myself before anyone else could. I tried to make my body easier to digest. Lighter. Less serious. Like if I laughed first, nobody could hurt me.
But deep down, I wasn’t respecting myself.
Self respect is not just confidence. It’s boundaries. It’s what you accept. It’s what you refuse.
Being searched taught me where my boundaries are
When your name becomes a keyword, you learn fast.
