Finding the Truth in the Frame
I used to think of cameras as mirrors I had to pose for, angles I had to fake, and lighting that had to hide me. But over time, the lens became a friend. A storyteller. A truth-teller.
Photography gave me a new way to see myself — not as something to be fixed, but as something to be captured.
Learning to See Beauty in the Raw Moments
When I started photographing myself without planning, without filters, I found beauty in the unexpected. A shadow across my cheek. A stretch mark in golden light. The way my third breast made my silhouette look unlike anyone else’s.
These weren’t things I had seen celebrated before. But through my own lens, I celebrated them. And that changed everything.
From Object to Artist
Taking my own photos made me feel like more than just a body. I became the artist of my image, not just the subject. I wasn’t waiting for someone else to tell me I looked good — I was deciding that for myself.
That shift gave me strength. It taught me that confidence isn’t just something you feel — it’s something you build, one photo, one pose, one truth at a time.
Loving the Image Means Loving the Reality
There’s no more separation now between the me in the mirror and the me on the screen. I’ve brought those versions together. I’ve made peace with the way I exist, and now I find joy in it.
My camera taught me to see more than flaws. It taught me to see form, light, mood — and most importantly, power.
